So my surprise happened on Wednesday afternoon. No it wasn't a great big juicy bone, a long hike or a new toy to destroy. It was a dog trainer, a man, I don't think much of men they are too scary so I wasn't that impressed nor was Ali as he had already re scheduled this meeting and he eventually turned up 45 minutes late. The long and short of it was a discussion after he had left between Ali, farmer J and Miss F on professionalism, or rather the fact he didn't show any and we will not be signing up for his classes. Ali wasn't impressed that he left his Doberman puppy in a crate in his van for the three hour visit and probably the two before when he was travelling and seeing a client before hand (who's contract he tippexed over ((with our tippex)) as he didn't have anymore contract papers) Ali had to plug his phone in to charge and he asked Miss F for a beer while Ali was selling two chickens (dead tasty ones) to a customer.
He didn't really have much to do with me at first there was lots of talking about a dogs needs, how we learn, pack mentality and natural training but then we did go out on a long lead. Apparently I'm not to have my security harness anymore but I'm still wearing it so i don't get lost on walks. We walked to the end of the road meeting the scary neighbours and their scary house, its too near the road which is why I'm scared along with the trees the other side as I feel hemmed in. He obviously did no about us dogs but maybe not so much about my nose, which once a smell appears it makes me go deaf.
I don't think we will see him again as he was called on after being recommended, he was going to hold classes a short five minute drive away. It turns out there wont be any classes in the next village but a forty five minute drive away. Now as that would be one and a half hours in the car plus a three hour session - we would be out for a long time, something Ali cant do as she does have to do farm work now and again plus I don't do cars yet, apart from lots of dribbling and then throwing up. He also wanted a lot of dog food money for a years worth of classes (with a reduction if I was signed up there and then), which as Ali has reflected on as we don't do heat that well and cant envisage us both standing in the rain there may only be a few sessions we would like to go to, not taking into account cold freezing weather for a period of the year.
So I'm not going to classes but apparently Miss F is writing out a training plan that I am to follow. I don't think she knows I cant read yet but I may go along with her wishes if she gives good treats.
