The extension to the veggie patch was weeded with the shed emptied of mud from where piglets had lived for a short time, so much encrusted mud was inside the shed it took farmer J a morning with a crow bar and hammer chipping away as I placed it over the earth to be rotovated.(the green bit by the shed has been left due to big tree roots, this is going to be made into a refuge for us, images of seating, fridge and stove appear in my head with a house for the dogs where we can spend a little free time - bit like a holiday!
I had a go at rotovating with the rotovator, which after having a life of its own farmer J had to take over. Sunflowers have been planted along the fence, its now ready to be planted before the weeds start to grow.
I have weeded a little in the veggie patch, now I can see rows of beetroot and parsnips its a little easier. We have had a bit of rain and sun so the weeds have grown a bit more - next week it will be weeded and tidied(in my dreams)
The first of the raspberries have been picked with the black currents hot on their tail.
Sandy, the pig with lots of personality gave birth after being a month overdue, 10 piglets who are growing each day in size. They have all been shut in the birthing suite for fear of buzzards attacking the lively piglets out in the enclosure, they are already running around. As the electric fence has quiet a high current going through it we also don't want them to be zapped by it just yet.
Sunday being our day of rest we went to St Antonin Nobel Val today where there was a made by hand market.
I couldn't help take a photo of this stall look in between the willow balls under the cloth, ah.
The weather was good,we drove along the Aveyron river stopping for a picnic, farmer J, Miss F and her boyfriend and I for a lazy Sunday, a perfect day.
